David W. Greenfield is Vice President, Secretary, and General Counsel of Kennametal Inc. (NYSE: KMT). Mr. Greenfield has overall legal responsibility for the company and its legal department and serves as secretary to the Board of Directors. Before joining Kennametal in October 2001, Mr. Greenfield was a member of the Pittsburgh-based law firm of Buchanan Ingersoll P. C. As a member of the firm's Corporate Finance Group, his practice focused on corporate, financial, and transactional issues involving both public and private companies. Prior to his return to Pittsburgh, Mr. Greenfield was senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary of Meritor Automotive Inc., the former automotive business of Rockwell International Corporation. Mr. Greenfield was associate general counsel of Rockwell prior to the spin-off of Meritor in 1997. Mr. Greenfield is a 1975 graduate of the Wake Forest University School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review and served as a legal writing adviser. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972 with dual degrees in political science and history. He also attended the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, focusing his studies on economic and government regulation of business. He is currently active in a number of professional, civic and educational organizations. Mr. Greenfield and his wife, Carla, reside in the Pittsburgh suburb of Mt. Lebanon, Pa. They have two children.
