James (Jim) Don Carreker established JDC Holdings in 2000, a private equity investment firm. JDC Holdings has been active in various areas, with primary investment focus on restaurants, oil & gas and technology. Prior to establishing JDC holdings, Jim was president of Burdines Department Stores, after which he became managing general partner and president of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. Jim also became president and CEO of the Trammell Crow Company, while maintaining his role with Wyndham. He remained CEO of both companies until Wyndham’s IPO filing in January 1996, at which time he became vice-chairman of Trammell Crow Company and remained a director. Under his leadership, Wyndham was purchased by Patriot American Hospitality. Following a series of acquisitions, Patriot American and Wyndham International merged into a single corporation and Jim retired from Wyndham in 2000. Jim is a member of UT Southwestern Community Board of Advisors and serves on the boards of Minto Holdings, Westec Intelligent Surveillance and Aimbridge Hospitality. He received his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University in 1970, while on a football scholarship. He remained at OSU and earned his MBA in finance in 1972.
