Owen D. Thomas has been a director and the Chief Executive Officer of Boston Properties, Inc. since April 2, 2013. Mr. Thomas served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. (“LBHI”) from March 2012 until March 2013 and continues to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of LBHI. From 1987 until 2011, Mr. Thomas held various positions at Morgan Stanley, including Chief Executive Officer of Morgan Stanley Asia Ltd., President of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Head of Morgan Stanley Real Estate and Managing Director. Mr. Thomas was also a member of Morgan Stanley’s Management Committee from 2005 to 2011. He is a Director of the University of Virginia Investment Management Company, a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute and the former Chairman of the Pension Real Estate Association. He received a B.A. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Mr. Thomas joined the Lehman Brothers Holdings Board in 2012 after retiring from Morgan Stanley where he served 24 years in a number of different roles, business units and locations. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1987 in the real estate group within the Investment Banking Division, began managing the Firm\'s real estate investing business in 1994, and was named Managing Director in 1995, Head of Morgan Stanley Real Estate (investing and banking) in 2000 and President of Morgan Stanley Investment Management in 2005. In 2008 he moved to Hong Kong and was appointed CEO of Morgan Stanley Asia, was additionally reinstated as Chairman & CEO of Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing in 2009 and named Chairman of Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities in 2010. Mr. Thomas is Director of Grosvenor Group Limited, a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute, a Trustee and Investment Committee member of Woodberry Forest School and is a former Chairman of the Pension Real Estate Association. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He is married with three children and lives in Bronxville, New York.
