Gordon B. Zacks is chairman of the R.G. Barry Corporation, the world's largest marketer and supplier of at-and around-the-home comfort footwear for men, women, and children. He began at the company in 1955, became president in 1965, and was elected chairman in 1979. Mr. Zacks has served on the board of directors of many local, state, and national groups, including BalletMet, Children's Hospital, the Governors Business & Employment Council, American Israel Public Affairs Executive Committee, and Coalition for the Strategic Defense Initiative. His international activities include serving on the advisory boards of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Chief Executives Organization, Hebrew University Board of Governors, as well as co-chairman and secretary of the National Council for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. Active in political affairs, Mr. Zacks was a member of President Reagan's Advisory Committee for Trade Negotiations, a member of President Bush's Advisory Committee for Trade Negotiations and the Advisory Committee for the North American Free Trade Agreement, and Chairman of the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service Advisory. He has served as deputy chairman of the Bush for President National Campaign Committee as well as many other activities.
