Doro Bush Koch is a founding partner in BB&R Wellness Consulting. As part of the company’s mission to help people live physically and spiritually healthier lives, Doro has been teaching workshops about introduction to mindfulness and the importance of breathing. In this culture of doing, that has lost touch with living fully in the present moment, the discussion Doro offers is that of experiencing and reflecting on the impact of simple breath techniques and meditation for health purposes and to enhance our daily lives. She produced a meditation CD, “Take This Moment to Breathe.” Doro earned a B.A. in sociology from Boston College. She also studied at the Wesley Seminary in Washington, DC and studies under Tara Brach, a leading Western teacher of Buddhist meditation, emotional healing and spiritual awakening. Doro is Co-chair of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy and is the founder of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy, Maryland Initiative. She is also the author of the New York Times best-selling book “My Father, My President: A Personal Account of the Life of George H. W. Bush,” an intimate portrait of the life of her father, the 41st President of the United States. Doro Bush Koch is married with four children. Doro and her family reside in Potomac, MD.
