PetSmart

Incorporated in 1986, PetSmart opened its first two stores in Phoenix, Arizona in 1987. Today, PetSmart is the largest specialty retailer of services and solutions for the lifetime needs of pets with more than 1,232 stores in the United States (U.S.), including the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, and Canada. Since 1994, PetSmart Charities, Inc., an independent 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, has funded more than $165 million in grants and programs benefiting animal welfare organizations. In addition, through its in-store adoption programs, PetSmart Charities has helped save the lives of nearly 5 million pets.
