UN Sustainable Development Goals are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. The SDG Impact Accelerator (SDGia) is a novel initiative that leverages the SDGs to serve complex challenges faced by forcibly displaced populations and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) by funneling highly innovative solutions and convening private and public stakeholders around specific development challenges. More importantly, the SDGia is a reminder to all parties – such as institutions, governments and private sector – that the world of entrepreneurs is prepared to strengthen its engagement in addressing complex development issues. In doing so, the SDGiaframework shifts the paradigm of problem solving by initially identifying a challenge through a top-down approach for challenge mapping, and by subsequently scoping specific entrepreneurs developing bottom-up solution propositions.
