Sponsors, Inc. Sponsors, Inc. is 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in Eugene, Oregon (Lane County). It was founded in 1973 by a group of Catholic Nuns and community activists to meet basic needs of people returning to the community homeless and indigent. In 1988, they began providing housing beginning with 5 beds. Sponsors now operates 20 buildings on 7 sites with over 200 beds of transitional and permanent housing for people releasing back to Lane County from state or local correctional facilities. In addition to housing, Sponsors provide clients with on-site Probation/Parole officer, evidenced-based behavioral health counseling and education programs, mentoring, substance abuse treatment, employment services, and legal aid.
