Public Education and Business Coalition Teacher Residency (PEBC)

PEBC TEACHER RESIDENCY Colorado kids deserve great teachers. Many of our classrooms are led by teachers who are often undertrained, undersupported or burned out. The PEBC Teacher Residency, operated by PEBC (Public Education & Business Coalition) and funded by the Boettcher Foundation, prepares people to have exceptional teaching careers through a hands-on licensure program With funding from the Boettcher Foundation, the Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC)’s Teacher Residency—Colorado’s largest and most effective teacher residency model—is addressing the state’s teacher shortage through a hands-on licensure program. Because the classroom is the best place for teachers to develop the skills they need, program participants are placed in teaching positions alongside master teachers from the start. The PEBC Teacher Residency has a five-year retention rate of 95 percent and has prepared more than 1,000 educators across Colorado to date.
