Alliance for Quality Education (AQE)

Our Mission The Alliance for Quality Education is a coalition mobilizing communities across the state to keep New York true to its promise of ensuring a high quality public education to all students regardless of zip code. Combining its legislative and policy expertise with grassroots organizing, AQE advances proven-to-work strategies that lead to student success and ultimately create a powerful public demand for a high quality education. Founded in 2000, AQE quickly became New York state’s lead community-based organization in the fight for high quality public education. Our Vision We believe children have the right to high quality academic opportunities, social and emotional supports, full access to arts, music, physical education, and after-school enrichment programs like sports and other extracurricular activities. Parent Power AQE was born to give a voice to parents and community members around the Campaign for Fiscal Equity lawsuit and calling for a quality education for their schools. Statewide Advocacy AQE helps to organize parents and community members in every region of New York State, with staff located in Buffalo, Rochester, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, New York City and the Capital District.
