Program Areas Overview Program Overview Human Service Systems Immigrants & Refugees Promoting Culture Community Arts Since its inception, the Zellerbach Family Foundation has focused its work on the San Francisco Bay Area, where the Zellerbach family has deep roots and a long standing commitment to civic engagement. Our mission, to be a catalyst for constructive social change by initiating and investing in efforts that strengthen families and communities, is demonstrated in the following program areas: Improving Human Service Systems grants help to improve the management, practice, and accountability of public systems serving vulnerable children and families. The Immigrants and Refugees program supports the successful integration of newcomers and encourages their informed and widespread participation in community life. The Promoting Culture program seeks to ensure artists and audiences are given opportunities to further the vitality of the arts in the Bay Area. As part of the Promoting Culture program, Community Arts grants provide project based support to individual artists and small and mid-size arts organizations to make new and innovative work accessible to Bay Area cultures and communities. Our Previous Work While we no longer have dedicated programs focused on Strengthening Communities and Youth Development, our grantmaking continues to embrace the goals of these former areas of interest.
