Headquartered in Westlake Village, Guitar Center is a chain of musical instrument retailers founded in 1959 by Wayne Mitchell as The Organ Center. The company now operates more than 210 Guitar Center stores across the U.S. Private equity firm Bain Capital bought the company in June 2007.
