Asplundh Tree Expert

Asplundh, founded in 1928 by brothers Griffith, Lester and Carl Asplundh, is still family-owned and managed. The company's first contract was to trim 500 trees for Pennsylvania Power & Light. Customers now include over 250 electric utilities, telecommunications companies, municipalities, pipelines and railroads in 50 states and four foreign countries. About 70% of revenues come from trimming trees near customers' lines. Asplundh recently established UtiliCon Solutions Ltd., whose subsidiaries offer a range of utility services, including underground utility location, line construction, meter reading, infrared inspection, utility pole maintenance and GPS mapping.
