In 1962, Charles A. Sammons started Sammons Enterprises, a financial services and insurance company. The primary holdings of the Dallas, Texas company include Midland National Life Insurance Co. in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and North American Co. in Chicago. It also owns Briggs Industrial Equipment, Briggs Construction Equipment and Grove Park Inn. Sammons Enterprises is an employee-owned company.
