CESAR is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Their website lists their mission as “identifying fact based science to assist in conservation of species, ensuring the application of environmental laws and providing information on environmental conservation to the public, policy makers, and staff at regulatory agencies.” The corporation was established in 2008 with the name Council for Endangered Species Act Reliability (CESAR), later in 2011, they changed their full name into Center for Environmental Science Accuracy and Reliability (CESAR). The membership is free but individuals can donate through their website page using paypal. Their website does not contain much information: no list of members is available, nor are any staff named, save an executive director. However, they do list their major projects along with the litigation documents. Majority of their projects are relating to water issues and endangered species.
