Southwest Shipyard, L.P. was founded in 1954 by Mr. Henry Hilliard as a fleeting facility to park barges. Since the first fleeting operation at that time, the company has now grown to provide a wide variety of vessel cleaning, repair, refurbishing and construction services in the Houston-Galveston area. In 2004, Southwest Shipyard acquired the Brady Island and Pasadena facilities and continued to operate and develop these facilities. In 2005, the Brady Island West facility was acquired and the Pasadena Facility was consolidated with the Brady Island facility. In an effort to continue expanding, the Galveston facility was acquired in 2006, which provided a great opportunity to get into the new construction market for 10,000 bbl barges.
