In his role at BD, Mr. Sherman will report directly to Mr. Ludwig. He will have overall responsibility for BD's Law Department, including the Corporate Secretary's Office and Ethics Office. Mr. Sherman joins BD from Wyeth, where he served most recently as Vice President and Associate General Counsel. He joined Wyeth in 1990 and held various legal positions of increasing responsibility during his tenure there, leading to his appointment as Associate General Counsel in 2001. Prior to Wyeth, Mr. Sherman was a partner with the New York City law firm of Shereff, Friedman, Hoffman & Goodman (now Swidler, Berlin, Shereff, Friedman, LLP). Mr. Sherman received his B.A. degree, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School.
