Steve Bannon

Mr. Bannon has an undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech, a master’s degree in national security studies from Georgetown and an M.B.A. from Harvard. Before entering the business world, Mr. Bannon was in the military. For seven years, he was a surface warfare officer in the Navy. He served in battle groups that were stationed in the Arabian Sea and in the Persian Gulf. After that, he was stationed at the Pentagon, becoming special assistant to the chief of naval operations during President Ronald Reagan’s first term. After attending Harvard, Mr. Bannon became a banker at Goldman Sachs, focusing on media deals. He reportedly still receives royalties from reruns of the TV show “Seinfeld,” thanks to one of his previous transactions. Mr. Bannon eventually started his own firm to finance film projects and later started producing and directing movies. His political projects include “The Undefeated,” about Sarah Palin, and “In the Face of Evil: Reagan’s War in Word and Deed.” Mr. Bannon, who was a close friend of Andrew Breitbart, had been a board member of the Breitbart News Network and was appointed executive chairman after Mr. Breitbart’s death in 2012. Mr. Bannon also has close ties to Peter Schweizer, the author of the book “Clinton Cash,” which detailed how the Clintons had become rich since leaving the White House. Mr. Schweizer is the president of the Government Accountability Institute, an investigative group intent on uncovering “crony capitalism.” Mr. Bannon is a co-founder. Mr. Bannon is a Partner of Societe Gererale, one of the largest talent management companies in the entertainment business. Mr. Bannon served as the Chief Executive Officer of American Vantage Media Corp. Mr. Bannon received his MBA from Harvard University. He received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Polytechnical Institutes College of Architecture and has a graduate degree in Government from Georgetown University.
