Matt Gurtler

Former Georgia state legislator

Matt Gurtler (Republican Party) was a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 8. He assumed office on January 9, 2017. He left office on January 11, 2021. Gurtler ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Georgia's 9th Congressional District. He lost in the Republican primary runoff on August 11, 2020. Gurtler graduated from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega in 2012. He worked as a legislative aide for State Rep. Stephen Allison (R) and as a general contractor for his family's business.
