Brian Mast is a politician and veteran. He is the US Representative for Florida's 18th district. A combat engineer in the US Army Reserve, and an explosive ordinance disposal technician deployed in Afganistan. In 2010, Mast was severely injured near Kandahar, while clearing a path for US Army rangers; this resulted in the amputation of both his legs and one of his fingers. Back to civilian life, and while recovering from his injuries, Mast provided expertise and tuition in the area of explosives to the National Nuclear Security Administration and later the ATF. In 2016, he also obtained a ALB from Harvard University where he studied economics with minors in government and environmental studies.
