||Former Senator Nick Spano enjoyed a distinguished 28-year career in the New York State Legislature. Senator Spano was first elected at the age of 25 to the State Assembly. In 1986, he was elected to the State Senate, where he served for 20 years. During his tenure, Senator Spano rose to the senior ranks of the Legislature, serving as the Senior Assistant Majority Leader, Chairman of the Senate’s powerful committee on Investigations and Government Operations, and Chairman of the Committees on Labor and Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities. Senator Spano is known for his close working relationships with members of the New York State Legislature on both sides of the aisle, in both houses. Senator Spano enjoys an esteemed reputation for his accomplishments in the New York State Legislature.
