The Bezos Family Foundation: The Bezos Family Foundation supports rigorous, inspired learning environments for young people, from birth through high school, to put their education into action. Through investments in research, public awareness and programs, the foundation works to elevate the field of education and improve life outcomes of all children. I-LABS receives financial support from the Bezos Family Foundation and works in partnership with the Foundation to accelerate the science and practice of early learning.
Boeing: Boeing plays a significant role in ensuring the Northwest Region provides for strong, vibrant communities through its support of arts and culture, civic, education, environment and health and human services needs. I-LABS has received funding from Boeing to narrow the gap between research and practice.

Casey Family Programs: Casey Family Programs is the nation’s largest operating foundation focused entirely on foster care and improving the child welfare system. CFP works to provide and improve -- and ultimately prevent the need for -- foster care in the United States. CFP and I-LABS are partners in a study of the development of children in vulernerable families.
The Bill and Melinda GatesFoundation: Guided by the belief that every life has equal value, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation works to help all people lead healthy, productive lives. In developing countries, it focuses on improving people’s health and giving them the chance to lift themselves out of hunger and extreme poverty. In the United States, it seeks to ensure that all people—especially those with the fewest resources - have access to the opportunities they need to succeed in school and life. Based in Seattle, Washington, the foundation is led by CEO Jeff Raikes and Co-chair William H. Gates Sr., under the direction of Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett. The Gates Foundation awarded a grant to I-LABS in support of the Ready Mind Project.
Hearst FoundationsHearst Foundations: The Hearst Foundations support organizations invested in enriching culture, education, health and social service for all people, especially for low socioeconomic populations. I-LABS received funding from the Hearst Foundations to create the Hearst Fellowship, a program that cycles researchers through the Outreach and Education division to advance our mission of disseminating science.
Life Sciences Discovery FundLife Sciences Discovery Fund: The Life Sciences Discovery Fund (LSDF) was established in 2005 by the Governor and Washington's Legislature to foster growth of the state’s life sciences sector and improve the health and economic wellbeing of its residents. LSDF invests in research across Washington that demonstrates the strongest potential for delivering health and economic returns to the state. LSDF provided major funding to catalyze the development of the I-LABS MEG Brain Imaging Center.
James S. McDonnell Foundation: The James S. McDonnell Foundation was established to "improve the quality of life," and does so by contributing to the generation of new knowledge through its support of research and scholarship. I-LABS’ scientists participate in a collaborative, multi-site research grant focusing on causal learning in young children.
National Institutes of Health: The National Institutes of Health provides the largest source of funding for medical and scientific research in the world. I-LABS’ scientists receive research funding for studies on early brain and behavioral development in children.
National Science FoundationNational Science Foundation: The National Science Foundation supports I-LABS’ scientists through an NSF Science of Learning Center grant (see The LIFE Center). The goals of the Science of Learning Centers Program are to advance the frontiers of all the sciences of learning through integrated research; to connect the research to specific scientific, technological, educational, and workforce challenges; to enable research communities to capitalize on new opportunities and discoveries; and to respond to new challenges. |
