Lynn McGovern, a Partner with Seiler LLP, a prominent Silicon Valley / San Francisco-based accounting firm, was selected as a new Board Member of Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
The organization provides community leadership through grantmaking programs, research and bringing together groups of problem-solvers to build a community of philanthropists who strengthen the common good.
“The Silicon Valley Community Foundation is one of the region’s foremost philanthropic organizations,” says McGovern. “Their ability to identify social, economic and environmental challenges facing our communities and to engaging our leaders in finding innovative solutions is inspiring,” she adds. “I look forward to helping the SVCF expand and strengthen the impact of their work.”
Ms. McGovern has been engaged in the field of public accounting for more than 20 years and currently specializes in tax planning and compliance for high-net-worth individuals and their closely held entities and private foundations. Her expertise includes tax issues concerning ultra-high net worth individuals, including income and sales tax planning for private jet ownership and fine art collections, domestic trust income tax planning, foreign trust in-bound distribution planning, foreign reporting compliance associated with foreign bank and financial accounts and
with the compliance associated with U.S. tax reporting requirements for grantors and beneficiaries of foreign trusts.
Lynn is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Foreign Trust Task Force, the California State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Lynn graduated from California State University at Chico with a degree in Business Administration. She also holds a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
