• Develop and implement a strategic communications plan to achieve NSC's annual programmatic goals and insert workforce issues into popular and political discussions.
• Lead NSC's efforts to craft and communicate its policy and political messages to organizational members, the broader field of workforce development stakeholders, the press, and the general public.
• Oversee the management of online communications efforts and infrastructures, including three websites, action alerts, e-newsletters, and social media.
• Lead the communication efforts of a number of coalitions, including a coalition focused on reducing the impact of budget cuts on non-defense discretionary programs. Write and place op-eds, letters to the editor, statements, press releases and blog posts.
• Oversee the branding development and website design of a new campaign launched addressing the data quality needs of the workforce development field.
• Maintain press clippings and press lists of reporters covering education, employment and job training issues.
• Develop and expand NSC's strategic partnerships with other organizations to advance NSC's communications initiatives.
• Manage communications associate as well as outside contractors. See less |
