Based at New York University's Wagner School of Public Service the Innovation Labs are a new series of experiments that marry theory and practice to promote informed, evidence-based decision-making in a complex world. Each Lab has its own focus and approach, and operates independently, but all reflect Wagner's broad commitment to bringing scholars, thinkers and practitioners together, both figuratively and literally, to improve the way policy is made. Currently I'm working on a range of projects focused on municipal innovation with Bloomberg Philanthropies, Citibank and the Ford Foundation. I'm also leading the NYU team in a consortium administering the Strong Cities, Strong Communities National Resource Network an Obama administration effort to erect a one-stop shop for cities and communities to access a wide array of technical and policy assistance.
