Gordon Van Welie

Gordon van Welie is President and Chief Executive Officer of ISO New England Inc. Mr. van Welie has been actively involved for more than a decade in the establishment and growth of advanced wholesale electricity markets and a robust regional system planning process in the New England region. He joined the ISO from Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution LLC and previously held several positions at Eskom, South Africa’s electric utility based in Johannesburg. Mr. van Welie serves on the Executive Committee of the U.S. National Committee of the International Council on Large Electric Systems and was appointed by U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu as a member of the Electricity Advisory Committee to the U.S. Department of Energy.
