Dara P Richardson-Heron

Dara joined Komen Greater NYC as its Chief Executive Officer in June 2008. She has more than 18 years of health care leadership, management and advocacy experience in the nonprofit and private sectors. Prior to joining Komen, Dara was the Chief Medical Officer of United Cerebral Palsy, Inc., providing advocacy, support services and advice and counsel to 100 UCP affiliates serving people with disabilities in the US, Canada and Australia. She also served as the Chief Medical Officer and Assistant Executive Director at United Cerebral Palsy of NYC, participating in management, strategic planning, clinical and administrative operations and fundraising. Dara's previous positions include Special Assistant to the Chairman and CEO, Executive Medical Director and Director, Operations Support at Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. She is a graduate of Barnard College and New York University School of Medicine. In addition to her many professional accomplishments, Dara is a 14-year-and-counting breast cancer survivor.
