Joey A. Jacobs joined Acadia in February 2011 and has served as the Chairman of the Acadia board of directors and as Acadia’s Chief Executive Officer since that time. Mr. Jacobs has extensive experience in the behavioral health industry. Prior to joining the Company in 2011, he co-founded Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (“PSI”) and served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of PSI from April 1997 to November 2010. Prior to founding PSI, Mr. Jacobs served for 21 years in various capacities with Hospital Corporation of America (“HCA,” also formerly known as Columbia and Columbia/HCA), most recently as President of the Tennessee Division. Mr. Jacobs’ background at HCA also included serving as president of HCA’s Central Group, vice president of the Western Group, assistant vice president of the Central Group and assistant vice president of the Salt Lake City Division. Mr. Jacobs serves on the board of directors of AmSurg Corporation, Cumberland Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Mental Health Management, Inc.
