Mike Turner is Senior Vice President, Onshore Business Unit for Hess Corporation, a leading global independent energy company engaged in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas. In this role, which he has held since 2013, Turner leads the company’s land-based production and development assets around the world, which includes unconventional, conventional and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) assets in the Americas, Africa and Asia Pacific. He is the CEO of Hess Infrastructure Partners – Hess’ midstream joint venture partnership with Global Infrastructure Partners, and leader of the global Environment, Health and Safety, and Technology and Excellence organizations. He previously served as Senior Vice President, Global Production. Turner serves on the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) midstream committee and is recognized in the industry as an authority in transforming organizations through Lean operational excellence. Prior to joining Hess in 2009, Turner spent 28 years with Shell in a variety of production leadership positions around the world including General Manager for Shell’s UK North Sea exploration and production (E&P) assets and Senior Vice President of Aera Energy, a California-based joint venture affiliate of Shell and Mobil, where he was responsible for the majority of its producing operations and initiated Lean-based operational excellence. Turner holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with minors in Management and Industrial Psychology from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute.
