Before serving as state banking chief between 2003 and 2007, Ms. Taylor was a top aide to New York Gov. George Pataki. She was also president of securities firm M.R. Beal & Co., and a banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Lehman Brothers and Smith Barney. She also serves as a director of art auction house Sotheby's and real-estate firm Brookfield Properties. Ms. Taylor earned a M.P.H. from Columbia University, an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia University-Graduate School of Business and an A.B. in Economics from Dartmouth College. Diana L.
