Peter H Rijneveldshoek

Ashland Inc. Vice President and President, Ashland Performance Materials Peter Rijneveldshoek, 56, oversees the sales, marketing and technology teams for the Casting Solutions, Composite Polymers and Specialty Polymers and Adhesives businesses. Maintaining his role from Barendrecht, the Netherlands, he will serve as the chair of the European Business Council and has responsibility for the coordination and leadership of business initiatives that are aligned to the specific needs and requirements of European markets. Peter will continue to directly manage Ashland’s shared services center in Rotterdam. Rijneveldshoek joined Ashland in 1975, working in sales for Ashland’s Drew Industrial business in Rotterdam. He has served as general manager for Drew Industrial’s Dutch operations and marketing manager for Drew Industrial Europe. In 1990, he was promoted to Drew Industrial vice president for Europe and the Middle East; and in 2002, he was assigned additional responsibilities as director of Ashland’s European Shared Business Services. In 2004, his area of responsibility was again expanded to include the Asia Pacific and African regions for Drew Industrial. Rijneveldshoek was named senior vice president of Performance Materials in 2005 and was appointed to vice president of Ashland and president of Ashland Europe in 2007. He was named to the present role of vice president and president of Ashland Performance Materials in 2008. A native of The Netherlands, Rijneveldshoek earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Delft.
