Dennis Steven Hersch passed away peacefully on January 18, 2022 at Memorial Sloan Kettering after a years-long battle with cancer. Dennis was born to Florence and Alfred Hersch on March 20, 1947 in Coney Island, NY. After graduating Brooklyn College and New York University Law School, he spent a brief period with the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York before moving on to begin a distinguished career in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Davis, Polk & Wardwell in 1970. In 2005, he changed careers at 58 years old to Co-Head the Global M&A Group at JP Morgan. While his time at JP Morgan only lasted three years, it was, at the time, a record period of M&A activity. He served as the President of the Board of Noyac Golf Club, the Chairman of the Board of his Co-Op, and also the President of the Board of the Horticultural Society of New York. In addition, he served on various boards of both public and private companies, most recently with PJT Partners. Dennis was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Florence Hersch. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Huguette, his brother Stuart (Marni), his sons Greg (Nicole) and Jeremy (Morgan), his nephew AJ, his niece Orli, and his beloved grandchildren Jackson, Phoebe, Oliver, Kaia, and Dylan. Mr. Hersch is President of N.A. Property, Inc., through which he acts as a business advisor to Mr. and Mrs. Wexner, and has done so since February 2008. He also serves as a trustee of several trusts established by Mr. and Mrs. Wexner. He was a Managing Director of JPMorgan Securities, Inc., an investment bank, from December 2005 through January 2008, where he served as the Global Chairman of its Mergers & Acquisitions Department. Mr. Hersch was a partner of Davis Polk & Wardwell, a New York law firm, from 1978 until December 2005.
