Chow Shing Yuk

Chow, 45, cofounded his company, better known as Lalamove, in 2013 with HK$30 million ($4 million) in poker winnings. It notched $600 million in revenue in the first half of 2023 when it filed for an IPO in Hong Kong after reportedly dropping plans for a U.S. listing. The IPO proceeds will be used to expand services in mainland China, from where Lalamove gets the bulk of its revenue, and to grow its global footprint, which extends to Southeast Asia and Latin America. Chow, who grew up in a dilapidated wooden house in Hong Kong, studied economics at Stanford University on a scholarship. He worked at management consultancy Bain & Co. before becoming a full-time professional poker player.
