Most recently, Ashu was a general manager with Microsoft's On-Line Services business, where he was responsible for strategy and business management for the Digital Advertising Solutions Business Group. In this capacity, he was responsible for building out the business plan for the advertising business at Microsoft. Ashu also led the Yield (revenue) Management function, and was responsible for monetizing both display and contextual inventory across Microsoft's advertising network. Prior to his work with Microsoft, Ashu worked with McKinsey & Company in India, where he served early and growth stage companies in digital media, software/software services, healthcare, and consumer services on a range of growth-related issues. While at McKinsey, Ashu worked closely with NASSCOM to develop the initial IT sector strategy for India, and co-founded Aptech Internet, an Indian online services startup, in partnership with Aptech Ltd. Ashu has also worked with Hindustan Unilever in India, where he set up operations in Nepal, and Cadence Design Systems. Ashu is a TiE Charter Member, and the Vice President for Marketing for the Pan IIT Alumni Association. He is also a member of The Indian Angel Network, and is on the Board of Vienova, an Indian early stage education services provider. He holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management at Bangalore, where he received the Citibank Leadership award and the President's Gold Medal, and a Bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology at New Delhi.
