Matt is a native of Arkansas, and serves as Chief of Staff, in Washington, DC, for Congressman John Boozman. In his current position, he has worked to effectively manage a team of 22 employees in Washington and three district offices. Matt is responsible for establishing goals, priorities, and strategy for Congressman Boozman, as they relate to, transportation, veterans affairs, international relations, and health care. Since 2002, he has worked to assertively apply communication channels throughout the staff to effectively convey to the district. Matt has successfully managed the implementation of all procedures as they apply to major policy initiatives. Previously, Matt was a Senior Consultant at the management consulting firm Booz-Allen-Hamilton. In this role, he was responsible for analyzing and implementing marketing and communication strategies for government clients. Additionally, Matt served as the Senior Legislative Assistant of then-Congressman Saxby Chambliss’ Washington office. Matt’s responsibilities included: health care, advising the Congressman on all transportation issues before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and serving as a liaison to Congressional leadership and the White House. He also worked closely with committee staff on the Transportation and Appropriations Committee, including the successful passage of several transportation appropriations that provided millions of dollars for the state of Georgia. He also served as both a policy adviser and campaign strategist, helping to elect Congressman Chambliss to his second term in Congress. After graduating from Henderson State University he received his master’s degree in Business Administration from MaryMount University, in Arlington, VA. He is married to Anna Sagely. They have a one son.
