Dr. Arroyo is the Medical Director of the Los Angeles County Department of Behavioral Health (LACDMH), Prevention and Early Intervention Bureau. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at USC Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Arroyo represents LACDMH in mental health program development and policy implementation at the county, state, and national levels. He has served on several state boards and national advisory bodies including: California Children’s Medi-Cal Health Advisory Panel; the California (Prison) Rehabilitation Oversight Board; the state Commission on Juvenile Justice; Haywood Burns Institute; the County Behavioral Health Directors Association; the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Task Force on Eliminating Mental Health Disparities, and children’s mental health research and training centers at Portland State University, Georgetown University, and University of South Florida. He also works in a probation camp for teens with mental health, drug use, and alcohol problems.
