A retired physician and Newsmax Insider, she ran to represent North Carolina in the Senate in 2002 and ran to go to Congress in 2004 and 2006. In 2008, Fisher ran for a seat in the North Carolina House of Representatives; while unsuccessful in that race, she was elected to represent North Carolina as its Republican national committeewoman, the first black woman to do so in the state. Fisher has been re-elected twice for four-year terms.
