George Seay III

George Seay III is an attorney and a chartered financial analyst (CFA). Seay is the founder and chairman of Annandale Capital, an investment firm based in Dallas, Texas. He is a prolific political donor, often contributing to Republican candidates. Seay is co-founder with Ray Washburne of the Legacy Political Fund, an exclusive evangelical group. Seay is also the grandson of former Texas Governor Bill Clements. George Seay III began his political career in 1986 working on his grandfather former Texas Gov. Bill Clements' gubernatorial campaign. Following his grandfather's election to office, Seay served as legislative liaison for the governor.[4] In 1989, just after graduating from the University of Texas, Seay was the aide to Deputy Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger at the State Department. After graduating law school at Southern Methodist University in 1994, Seay joined the Dallas law firm, Locke Purnell Rain Harrell, where he was a commercial litigator for two years. When Seay received his MBA from the University of Texas in 1998, he started Seay Stewardship and Investment. Seay was the CEO of the firm for 10 years. While still at Seay Stewardship and Investment, Seay founded Annandale Capital in 2005. He has been chairman and CEO since 2005. In 2007, Seay and Ray Washburne officially formed the Legacy Political Fund, a politically active organization of "affluent Evangelicals," according to The New York Observer. The group is composed of 200 to 300 families nationwide, who have a shared interest in policy and politics, according to The Dallas Morning News. In 2008, Seay was Mitt Romney's bundler for Romney's presidential bid. Seay was also chairman of Romney's Texas finance committee. In 2012, Seay was former Texas Gov. Rick Perry's finance chairman and chief bundler for Perry's 2012 presidential campaign. Seay is or has been active on a number of boards, where he has served as either chairman or board member: UT Southwestern Medical Foundation, UT McCombs School of Business, New Covenant Foundation, 7th Generation Foundation, Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum Foundation, the Admiral Nimitz National Museum of the Pacific War Foundation, and William P. Clements, Jr. Center for History, Strategy and Statecraft, University of Texas at Austin.
