Major league baseball veteran Johnnie B. “Dusty” Baker Jr. played 19 seasons in the big leagues and served as a manager for 20 more. Baker was drafted out of Del Cam- po High School in 1967 by the Atlanta Braves. As a player, he hit 242 career home runs and won the World Series with the 1981 Los Angeles Dodgers. During his leg- endary managerial career, he took four different teams to the MLB playoffs, leading the 2002 San Francisco Giants to the World Series. Today, he co-owns Baker Family Wines, a winery that sources some of its grapes from Baker’s backyard vineyard in Granite Bay.
