Nan Baker

Councilmember Nan Baker served four terms in the Ohio House of Representatives. She represented the 16th House District, which includes Bay Village, Fairview Park, North Olmsted, Rocky River and Westlake. Councilmember Baker has been a business owner for more than 30 years. As an active member of the West Shore Chamber of Commerce for two decades, she served as president for two years and currently serves on the Board of Trustees. She was also elected as a member of the Westlake Board of Education and served three terms on Westlake City Council. She stays active with her community through her involvement as a member of Westlake Kiwanis, Westside Professional Women's Connection and the West Shore Republican Club. Councilmember Baker has been honored with numerous awards throughout her career in public service. In 1999, she was named Honored Woman of the Year by the Westlake/North Olmsted League of Women Voters. She has also been given the Cleveland State University David C. Sweet Award bestowed on distinguished alumni for elected service and the West Shore Chamber of Commerce Hugh Dawson Award in recognition of outstanding service to the business community. In 2009, she received the Chuck McDonald COSE Advocacy Award for her service and dedication to small business. In 2016, she was inducted into the 2016 Olmsted Falls High School Hall of Fame. Councilwoman Baker and her husband Craig have been nominated as the 2017 Mr. and Mrs. Westlake by the Westlake Town Criers. Councilmember Baker holds an associate degree in business from Lorain County Community College, a Bachelor of Arts from Baldwin Wallace College and is a graduate of the Leadership Academy of Cleveland State University, College of Urban Studies. Councilmember Baker chairs the Council Operations, Intergovernmental Relations & Public Transportation Committee.
