Chris Yang is a Managing Partner of Grove Street Advisors, a $6.4 billion provider of discretionary separate accounts focused on private equity for large institutional clients. He is an active investor in micro and mid-market buyouts with a particular interest in distressed opportunities, as well as technology-oriented growth and venture funds. Chris takes leadership responsibility for GSA’s strategy and portfolio development in Asia. Prior to joining Grove Street in 2001, Chris was a consultant with Integral, Inc. and Alliance Consulting Group where he worked on strategy development for a number of large technology companies. He has also held various operating positions with Internet companies such as HomeGrocer, SchoolStop and Rotten Tomatoes. Chris was an Associate with HotBank/Seed Capital, SOFTBANK’s early stage venture affiliate in Boston, and has worked with Bain & Company on its eVolution joint venture with Texas Pacific Group and Kleiner Perkins, as well as the law firm of Bingham McCutchen. Chris holds a BS in Economics from MIT, a JD from Harvard Law School and an MBA from MIT Sloan. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.
