Fred Corbus is General Manager of WWMT-TV (CBS)/CW, owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. Sinclair is one of the largest and most diversified television broadcasting companies in the country with 193 TV stations in 89 U.S. markets. Sinclair also owns and operates a cable network, several radio stations and a portfolio of digital advertising platforms. Fred began his career at WWMT-TV in the early 90’s as an account executive in sales. After several promotions, and more than a decade later, he left the station to serve as Director of Sales at WOOD/WOTV-TV in Grand Rapids and then at WXYZ-TV in Detroit. Fred returned to WWMT-TV in 2015. A Kalamazoo native, Fred holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in management from Western Michigan University. In January 2018, he will become an officer of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters’ Political Action Committee. He is a volunteer with First United Methodist Church. Fred and his wife, Lynne, live in Portage. They have two daughters who live out of state. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling and attending college sporting events.
