David Pressman

U.S. Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations David Pressman is set to become executive director of the new Clooney Foundation for Justice, set up by George and Amal Clooney, as well as a partner at the Boies, Schiller & Flexner law firm. After some two years as deputy to U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power, Pressman said he would leave on Friday and start his new roles on Monday. Before his role at the world body, he served as assistant secretary of homeland security, on the National Security Council and on U.S. President Barack Obama’s Atrocity Prevention Board. Boies, Schiller & Flexner said Pressman’s work at the firm would focus on complex international disputes, litigation and arbitration, white-collar defense and crisis management. With George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and producer Jerry Weintraub, David co-founded Not On Our Watch, an international advocacy and grant-making organization designed to focus global attention and resources on mass atrocities and gross violations of international human rights. Not On Our Watch has raised tens of millions of dollars to support programs in some of the deadliest places on the planet. During the Clinton Administration, David served as an aide to Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright. He received his B.A. from Brown University and graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from New York University School of Law. He was honored as a distinguished alumnus of New York University School of Law in 2014.
