Clay Allen is the Managing Partner of Allen & Gooch. Clay has more than 25 years of experience in counseling corporations and boards of directors on issues of corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and matters of corporate finance. With an extensive knowledge of government and public policy, Clay has devoted much of his time and resources to the betterment of Louisiana, and he has earned a statewide reputation as a business and civic leader. Clay is a past chairman of numerous service organizations and civic groups, including the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry and Louisiana’s Committee of 100 for Economic Development, and he is a co-founder of Blueprint Louisiana, an historic reform movement leading to Louisiana’s adoption of the highest standard of governmental ethics in the country. Clay currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Lafayette General Medical Center, the largest full-service acute care hospital in the Acadiana region. Clay received a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctor from the LSU Law Center where he was an editor of the Louisiana Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif. He earned a Master of Laws in Taxation from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a Master of Business Administration with honors from Tulane University in New Orleans. Clay was awarded a Doctor of Letters from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in honor of his service to the endowment of academics.
