Kendra Scott's fortune comes from her majority stake in her eponymous jewelry company, valued by investors at over $1 billion. Scott started making jewelry out of her spare bedroom in Austin, Texas in 2002 after she couldn't find color gemstone jewelry she could afford. The business is now a chain of 79 Kendra Scott stores, which have Color Bars where customers can customize their own jewelry. Since the brand gained popularity, Scott has expanded into home decor, making candles, boxes and trays.
