At Stanford I teach and run a research lab. In industry I teach innovators about human behavior so they can create effective solutions. I call my work "Behavior Design." It's a set of models and methods I have created over the last 15 years. My earlier work focused on "persuasive technology." But today I research and teach about how human behavior works more generally. Yes, technology is part of my expertise, but it's a sidelight these days, not the main focus.
