Drew Morris

Morris, who died June 20 2013 at age 93, quietly but persistently helped a host of local causes, from Clifton Springs (New York) Hospital and Clinic to the local library, friends and community leaders said. Born in Clifton Springs Sept. 15, 1919, Morris was the grandson of Lisk founder George Washington Lisk. He served for years as the company’s owner and president, and he remained involved with its operation until his death. He took Lisk from a local business that made sprayers and flame arresters to a worldwide company that makes solenoids for military uses. Incorporated in 1953, Lisk now has factories in Ireland and China along with its 330,000-square-foot presence in Clifton Springs. Morris graduated from Syracuse University in 1941. He served in the Army Air Corp’s 58th Bomb Wing during World War II. After being discharged as a major in 1946, he returned to the hometown he loved. Morris was survived by his wife of 67 years, Marjorie; his three children, Anne Mancilla, Elaine and Rob; and his grandchildren Brian, Andrew, and Anthony.
