Bob was born May 3, 1930 in Ripon, Wisconsin to Dorothy and Gilbert Lambert. He attended Ripon public schools and graduated from Ripon College in 1952. After serving two years in the US Army Finance Corps, he attended Harvard Business School, graduating in 1956. He began his business career in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he met Margaret Meade, whom he married in 1961. Together they had three children and were married for 56 years until she passed away in July 2017. Bob's business career involved several promotions and relocations until he finally settled in Dallas with his family in 1973. There he continued his career as an executive with aviation services companies until his final retirement in 1996. Cooper Industries, Cooper Airmotive, Aviall and Ryder Systems are among the companies where he was employed. His philanthropic and social activities were many. He served 30 years on the Ripon College Board, including eight as its chair. He served nine years on the Jesuit College Prep Foundation Board, including two as it chair. He was preceded in passing by his wife Margaret. He is survived by his sons John and Thomas (Nina) of Dallas; daughter Jane Lastelick; grandsons Luke and Ryan Lastelick, also of Dallas; and his sister Suzanne Marvin of Colorado Springs.
