Bharat is the CEO and Founder of Bravia. He serves on the Investment Committee and has leadership responsibility for Bravia’s investment strategy. He is an experienced global investor in transportation and logistics, having built the world’s 4th largest aircraft leasing business and the world’s 2nd largest container leasing business. Prior to Bravia, Bharat served as consultant to leading aviation companies advising on freighter conversions. As President of C-S Aviation Services (“CS”), a Quantum fund investee company, he built the world’s first system integration business and developed Aviation Investments Group for Soros-Chatterjee companies. Bharat led CS’s investment in Hainan Airlines in 1995, and was the first foreigner to hold a Board Directorship of an airline in China. With the help of CS, Hainan Airlines grew from a 4 aircraft company to a 75 aircraft and 4 airlines company by 2000. After leaving CS, Bharat continued to help Hainan Airlines to grow its fleet and its routes. From 2008 onwards, Bharat through Bravia has led HNA Group Co., Ltd’s outbound China investments in transportation and logistics. Bharat holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors), Delhi University, India and M.B.A., Adelphi University, New York.
