TIM GALLES Chief Idea Officer - Barkley Advertising Tim Galles brings over 25 years of advertising, design, communication and marketing experience to Big Picture Learning. Over his career, he has led creative and strategic initiatives for major companies, including Microsoft, Ford, GM, Sprint, Target and Nestlé, and his work has received both creative and strategic awards, being honored by Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, Britain’s D & AD, Effies and the Jay Chiat Award for Strategic Excellence from the 4As. In addition to creating successful brand platforms, he has created a TV show with Jack Welch, launched several global campaigns for Microsoft and created the first social economy for GM. Tim has worked with major global agencies including JWT, Leo Burnett, Team Detroit, Havas, Dentsu, Hakuhodo and TBWA/CHIAT/DAY in New York, Detroit, Tokyo and Los Angeles. Currently, he is the Chief Idea Officer for Barkley Advertising, America’s largest employee-owned advertising agency, with offices in Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Boulder and Los Angeles. Tim studied at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, School of Visual Arts in New York and earned his BFA in Advertising from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. In addition to his advertising career, Tim has taught full-time in public high schools, worked extensively with Big Brothers Big Sisters and continues to mentor high school kids in their areas of interest and passion.
